With humble acceptance of God’s Will, we are saddened to announce the demise of Mama Dinah Mutenyo Sirengo of Lungai Village, Naitiri Sub-location, Bungoma North Sub-County, which occurred on Good Friday, 29th March 2024.

Mama Dinah was daughter of the late Mzee Khwatenge Wanaswa (Bamakhuli Clan) and Mama Anne Bunyibwa Chebukwa Namisi (Babangachi Clan).

She was beloved wife of Retired Mwalimu Jafred Sirengo Wasilwa (Batukwika, Bakitang’a Clan). An adoring mother of Mary Wandabwa Chemwa, Joash Khwatenge Sirengo, Margaret Sirengo, Dr. Nekesa Kalei, Joseph Wanyonyi Sirengo, David Wekesa Sirengo, Martha Sirengo, Margaret Nasambu Barasa and Knight Muyoka.

Mama Dinah was daughter-in-law of the late Mama Loice and Mzee Japheth Wasilwa. 

She was sister-in-law of the late Rebecca Mulati, the late Joinah Nasipwondi, the late Mary Nafula, the late Jane Nanjala and the late Zakaria Sikuku as well as the late Justus Wafula, Naliaka Wanyonyi, Masinde, the late Nasimiyu, Nanjala, Nambuswa, Nabwile, Rasoah, Walela, Nekesa and the late Machuma.

She was mother-in-law of the late Joseph Chalichali Chemwa, Addah Khwatenge, Arch. Patrick Wasike, Tom Kalei Mailu, Carolyn Amusolo Imaya, Alice Khakasa Barasa, Wycliffe Simiyu Wasike, Martin Barasa and Elphas Muori.

She was a loving sister of the late Mzee Julius Sifuma (Makuselwa), Vincent Soita (Weonia), Peter Werunga Khwatenge (Kiminini), the late Stephen Khaemba, Fred Shiundu, the late Japheth Wafula, Edson Wekesa (Naitiri), the late Jones Makonjo, Hellen Wamalwa (Motosieti, Cherangany), the late Timina Masinde (Kibisi), Geoffrey Mukhwana Matanda (Kiminini), Eunice Wamalwa (Lungai), Joan Nambovi (Eldoret) and Joseph Murumba (Namarambi).

She leaves behind thirty (30) Grandchildren and Six (6) Great-Grand Children. 

The cortege leaves Kiminini Cottage Funeral Home on Friday, 5th April 2024 at 12 noon for overnight stay and Vigil.

Burial will be held on Saturday, 6th April 2024 at her home, Lungai Village, Naitiri sub-Location, Bungoma North Sub-County starting at 10.00a.m.
