It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mama Thekla Nthenya Mutuku of the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), which occurred on Monday, April 1st 2024 at the Nairobi Hospital.

Mrs. Thekla Mutuku was a remarkable soul who battled her illness with unwavering strength, determination and faith. Thekla was daughter of the late Peter Wambua and the late Zipporah Munyiva. She was the daughter in-law of the late Sospeter Ngonzi and Mama Beatrice Ndulu.

Loving wife of Charles Mutuku of Kitulu village, Katheka Kai, Machakos County.

Mother of Ritah Munyiva (EPZ Authority), Rachael Ndulu (USIU-Africa), George Ngonzi (Rocket Africa), Erick Wambua (Serena Hotels) and Angela Mbithe (KCA University).

Mother-in-law of David Kimondo (Diageo), Dr. George Kosimbei (YALI RLC East Africa), Diana Mwelu (Cedana Enterprises) and Faith Chelimo (CEVA Logistics).

Doting grandmother of Elaine, Barbara, Bridgit, Ethan and Lucas. Guardian of Yvonne Munyiva. Sister of Margaret Mutile, John Mulela, the late Matthew Mutua, Caroline Syokau, Dominic Kyalo and Robert Mbabu.

Sister-in-law of the late Edward Mutune, the late Christine Mueni, the late Erick Kyalo, Robert Musembi, Jennifer Maingi, Fred Kinyungu, Stephen Kyuli, Frank Mweu, the late Jane Loko and Brian Muema.

She was a dear and special aunty of many. Niece of the late Musila Mbabu, the late Agnes Syokau, Peter Mwele, Francisca Koki, Juliana Itumbi, Jacinta Syombua, Annunciata Mutile, Cecilia Mbithe and the late Boniface Ngei.She was a cherished cousin of many.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home (Machakos) on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 at 8:00am for the Requiem mass at Katheka Kai Primary School. She will later be interred at her home in Kitulu village, Katheka Kai. There will be a fundraiser today Friday, April 5th 2024 at All Saints Cathedral.
