With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing on of Dr. Geoffrey Mugo Macharia which occurred on 25th April 2024 at the MP Shah hospital after a short illness. Until his demise he was a senior lecturer at the Kenyatta University.
He is son of the late Mr. Zachayo Macharia & the late Mrs Martha Mwihaki Macharia. Son-in-law of the late Josphat Njiru Munyaka & the late Susan Munyaka and the late Stephen Muratha & Virginia Nyambura Muratha.
He is husband of Jane Wangari Mugo of Thika Technical Institute.
Father of Daniel Mugo & Naomi Maina, Josphat Mugo & Getrude Alukwe Mugo, Martha Mwihaki Mugo & Keton Koipaten, Benjamin Gichohi & Mercy Towet Gichohi, Susan Wanja, Lawrence Mugo, John Mark Mugo and Caleb Mugo. He is blessed with many grandchildren.
He was brother of the late Joyce Muthoni, the late Naomi Nyaruai & Isaiah Njeru and Mary Wangari & Gerald Karanja. Brother-in-law of Ben Munyaka, the late Evans Munyaka, Moses Ndwiga, Annette Njoki, Magdalene Wambere, Mary Wawira, Peter Mwaura, Loice Muthoni, Margarate Wanjiru, Alice Wambui, Joseph Gitau, Daniel Mburu.
A cousin and uncle of many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his Kenyatta Road home, BOMA estate for prayers and funeral arrangements at 6.00p.m. There will be a memorial service at ACK St. Peters Kahawa Sukari on May 1st 2024 at 2.00p.m. The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral home, Kabati on Saturday May 4th 2024 at 8.00a.m for a funeral service at the Muranga Teachers college and thereafter internment at his Makuyu farm.
