It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s sovereign will that we announce the passing on to glory of Mrs. Noelle Mukiri Marete, formerly a teacher at Alliance High School, on Wednesday 15th of May 2024 at Nairobi West Hospital of an illness bravely borne. She was born on 16th November, 1955 at Jeanes School, Kabete.
Noelle was the daughter of the late Gideon Ringera and Mrs. Sarah Kairuthi Ringera. She was daughter-in-law of the late Josphat Marete and the late Esther Marete. She was the wife of Dr. Gideon Marete (Senior Lecturer, University of Nairobi). She was the sister of Kirima Ringera, Prof. Karambu Ringera, the late Peter Ringera, Susan Kinoti, Rtd CI. of Police Joseph Mutwiri Ringera, Ruth Mutwiri and Mercy Karamana Ringera (Macy’s Café, Meru).
She was sister-in-law of the late Tsilla Gacheri, Gatobu M’Marete, Esther Gakii Gatobu, Desiderius Njeru, Eunice Nyegera Njeru, Eng. Charles Kirimi, the late Dr. Mary Kirimi, Marta Kirimi, the late Titus Kimathi, Faith Kagwiria Kimathi, Solomon Kimathi, Cecilia Kimathi, Cpl Eliphas Muriungi and Zipporah Muriungi. She was the mother of Samuel Gitonga (Gatsby Africa), Dr. Grace Nkirote (Kanyakine Sub-County Hospital) and David Munene (Ujuzi Software Solutions Ltd). She was mother-in-law of Mercy Muthoni Marete. She was doting grandmother of Zawadi, Faraji, Amani and Ahadi. She was an aunt, cousin and friend of many.
The memorial service will be held on Monday the 27th of May 2024 at PCEA St. Andrews Church, Nairobi from 8:30am. She will be laid to rest on Friday the 31st of May 2024 at Gakurine Village, Kithoka, near Kenya Methodist University, in Imenti North Sub-County, Meru County. Friends and family are meeting daily at All Saints Cathedral St. James Hall until Friday 24th of May 2024 and continuing at the family home in Gakurine, Meru until Thursday 30th May 2024.
