It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden demise of our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Colleague and Friend Gerald Bundi Kirema, of AIDS Healthcare Foundation - Kenya, which occurred on Wednesday 10th July, 2024 after a short illness.
He was the first-born son of the Late Zachary Kirema and Monicah Njeru and Step-Son of Amina Mukongari. Son-in-law of Kasyima Kimulu and Nyila Kasyima. Loving Husband of Barnice Kaveke and devoted father of Faith Nkirote and Joy Makena.
Brother of Rebecca Mukiba, Mercy Kendi, Hellen Mukomunene, Jeniffer Mukongari, Peter Muguna and Fridah Kanja. Step-Brother to Mutuma, Baaki, Kathambi and Late Gatwiri. Brother In-law of Musyoka & Mueni, Mutua & Mueni, Mboya & Ndulu, Munyiva & Kithome. He was an uncle of many.
Bundi leaves a legacy of love and integrity with his family and those who knew him. He has left behind wonderful memories of a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. We are grateful for each and every day we got to see his glowing smile, and for the lessons learned and all the gentle aura he shared with everyone. He was adored by family and friends for, among other things, his compassion, optimism, gentleness and honesty.
He will be loved and missed always.
Family members, friends and well-wishers are meeting daily at Kangemi Methodist Church off Waiyaki Way, Thiongo Road from 6:00pm and his rural home Karimaiga Village in Murathankari-Meru County, for prayers and funeral arrangements.
A requiem mass will be held on Thursday the 18th July 2024 at Kangemi Methodist Church from 3:00pm.
