Margaret Ursula Arara

9^th March 1939 – 12^th April 2025

It is with deep sorrow and heavy heart that we announce the demise of our beloved MUM Margaret Ursula Arara, which occurred on 12th April 2025. She was wife of Joseph Bernard Arara, daughter of the late Cyril Joseph Ojoo and the late Bernadette  Ojoo of Nyandiwa, Siaya County.

She was the mother of Sr. Jane Luke, Dr. Lucy Ogol, Christine Omollo (Tinnie), Monica Arara (Monnie), the late Pamela Arara, Samuel Mwaga, the late Enoch, the late Maureen Ondula, Jane Arara (Nyasei), Thomas Kizito (Kizzie), the late James Arara, Olga Arara-Kimani and the late Cyril Ojoo.  Mother-In-law of Prof. Callistus Ogol, the late Dr. John F Omollo, David Okwako, the late Luke Ondula,  John Mathias Kimani.

Sister of Mary Oduor, the late John Onyango, the late Michael Ojoo, Margaret Ojoo, the late Francis Ojoo, Hellen Ojoo, Mary Goretti Konjalo , Electa Ojoo, the late Patricia Odhiambo. Sister-in-law of the late Lucia, the late Oywa, late Sarah and Dorcas. Aunty of the Oduors, Onyangos, Odhiambos, Otienos, Konjalos, Oburas and Nuzis, Odenyos, Otichros and many others.

Grandmother of Adrian, Purity, Charles (Boni), Maria, Essie, Jonathan (Dan), Michelle, Francis, Marie-Jose, Mela (Adet), Immaculate, Elizabeth, Mandela, Naomi, Christine (Songi), Telemi (Chichi), JB (Pompi), Lawrence (Loius), Margaret (Bumbu), Lorraine, Emmanuel (Oki), Kaneda and Kieran. Great-grandmother of Hawi, Ivana, Imora, Amara, Lerato, Kalayopi, JF, Adrian and Aiden.

Requiem Mass and Vigil will be held on Thursday 24th April 2025 at St. Peter Clavers, Yala at 9.00a.m., Requiem Mass at St. Margaret’s at 2p.m.  followed by the Funeral Mass on Friday 25th April 2025 at Anyiko Primary School, along Butere Road, Yala, Siaya County at 9.00a.m.
