It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Ernest George Bunyassi on 12th March 2018 . He hailed from Kisoko Nambale, Busia. He was formerly MD of Kenya National Trading Corporation, General Manager of Agricultural Development Corporation and General Manager- Administration of Kenya National Assurance.
Son of the late Luka Edewa Oidare and Paulina Ajwang. Son in law of the late Musa Lundu and the late Salome Luvai Lundu. Loving husband of Rose Vugutsa Bunyassi, beloved father of Patrick Oidare, Lina Bunyassi, Lillian Bunyassi-Asuga, Edward Narotso Bunyassi, Catherine Bunyassi- Kahuria, and the late Christopher Lundu Bunyassi. Father in Law of Pamela Ongokho,Miruni Kulundu,Evans Asuga Ongicho and Colonel Paul Kahuria Njema. Doting grandfather of Michael Agulu, Sharon Pauline, Nancy, Luka, Edwin, Lamas, Dennis, Paul, Emmanuel Asuga, Amani Bunyassi, Esther Wanjiku, Jamie Ernest, Felicia Karen and Jonathan Paul. Brother of Josephine Ogut, the late Chief Alex Okello Edewa, Wilfreda Nawinyi Mzee, Christine Edewa Inisata and Helen Edewa. In-law of Margaret Ndevera, Keziah Andeka, Lena Musozi, Isaiah Lundu , Elizabeth Anyira, Janet Imbwaga and Levi Lundu. Cousin of Hon. John Sakwa Bunyasi MP Nambale, Hon.Chrysantus Okemo, Sylvester Andera King, Barnabas Nyadawa, Linus Mbalwe, Augustine Kwedho,Chrispinus Ongoma among others. A great grandfather of many.
Funeral arrangements are taking place at the family residence in Nairobi on week days from 5pm. A major fundraising has been scheduled for Monday 19th March 2018 at United Kenya Club at 5.00p.m. All are welcome.
Funeral service will be held at St. Austin’s Catholic Church, Lavington, on Thursday 22nd March 2018 at 10.00am. Burial will be on Saturday 24th March 2018 at Kisoko Nambale, Busia County.
