It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mama Philista Oyuga Omondi which occurred on 2nd of August 2021 after a long-term illness.
She was the daughter to the late Magarita Wege Odindo and the late Odindo Amollo. Loving wife to the late John Omondi Majiwa. Mother to Caroline Atieno Okello, the late Millicent Akoth Majiwa, Geoffrey Majiwa Odhaimbo, the late Jane Apondi, the late Tabitha Awour, Samuel Otieno Majiwa, Vivian Rodah Akinyi, Antony Omondi Majiwa, the late Jacqueline Anyango and Lilian Anyango.
Sister to the late Angelina Ogol, the late Getruda, the late Grace Owenga, the late Petronila Okal and he late Walter Sijenyi. Sister in-law to Richard Ogumbo, Julius Odembo and Omanyo.
Mother in-law to Jacinta Syombua, Winnie Atieno, Millicent Mwangangi, Ruth Omondi, Dorothy Oyomba, Silvanus Okello Wanzala, Nicholas Ogolla Odipo, the late Peter Abuto Juma and Benson Ojuang’ Odhiambo.
A grandmother to Fredrick Otieno, Dorcas Adhiambo, Winnie Awour, Byron Ochieng, Job Opiyo, Jane Akinyi, Joshua Bradly, Maureen Ogolla, Lucy Awuor, Belindar Ogolla, Teddy Ogolla, Tom Ogolla, Kerry Ogolla, Joan Achieng, Gregory Odhiambo, Emmy Oyuga, Mercy Achieng, Magret Adhiambo, Trecy Adhiambo, the late Essy Apondi, Sasha Majiwa, Phidel Adhok, Phile Ramos Omondi, Melvin Atieno, Harrison Ochieng, Tamara Akinyi, Trevis Mannuel, Lucky Onyango Omondi, Lydia Akinyi, Brian and Tony.
Great grandmother to Nelly Kellsie, Adriana Cruz, Carol Hazel, Robin Baraza, Ethan Otieno, Allison Yusuf, Wesley Omondi, Leny Mark, Leon Mathews, Lyrah Millary, Camryn Imora, Millicent Nadia, Keyla Joy, the late sterline Achieng and the late Ramsy.
On Wednesday the 11th of August 2021 there will be a mini fund raiser at Nairobi County Assembly Members Lounge as from 5pm to 7pm.
The Cortege will leave Umash funeral home (Mbagathi way) on Thursday the 12th of August 2021 at 7:00 am to Coptic Church (Ngong road) for a requiem service which will begin at 8 am to 9:30 am. At 10:00 am the cortege will leave Nairobi to Siaya Alego for burial. On Friday 13th of August, the body will be laid to rest at her home in Ng’iya Village.
