We, the family of the late Prof Richard Samson Odingo, thank everyone for the moral, material and financial support accorded when he rested on 12 June 2021. Above all, we thank God for His grace and comfort in all this. He raised a fortress of support through friends and relatives to whom were are forever indebted.
We are incredibly grateful to His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta for his encouragement and in recognising the contribution of Prof Odingo as an authority on climate change. We also thank Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, the former Prime Minister, and Hon Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o, Governor of Kisumu, and his team for support and finding time to be with us during burial.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Nyanza Regional Commissioner, James Kianda, and the University of Nairobi fraternity led by Vice Chancellor, Prof Stephen Kiama.
The funeral committees in Nairobi, Koru-Fort Ternan and Nyakach led by Pastor Benson Nyang’or, Eng Edwin Abonyo and Tom Owako respectively, you did a splendid job.
We are thankful to the Church and particularly the Provost of All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi, Dr Sammy  Wainaina, and Dr Joshua Owiti, the Bishop of ACK Maseno East Diocese and his clergy who presided over the interment ceremony. Retired ACK Bishop Jeremiah Taama and family, and Evangelist Jane Muchiri, we honour you. 
To the medical team at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, led by Dr Leonard Mzee Ngunga, thank you for the care accorded to Prof Odingo in his last days.
We thank the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Soroptimist International Sisters, Bioforest Italy, Maasai Mara Science and Development Initiative (MMSDI), Nation Media Group and Ochoria Tumaini Women Group in Fort Ternan.
Chiromo Funeral Parlor, we appreciate your excellent logistical services and facilitation.
Friends, neighbours, colleagues, associates and relatives from Nairobi, Nyakach, Oyugis, Alego, Kabondo and Koru-Fort Ternan receive our deep appreciation. While it is not possible to name all of you here, kindly accept our sincere gratitude. We were immensely touched by your gestures, prayers, presence and messages of comfort and encouragement.
May the Almighty God bless you and your families.
