It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing on of Mr. Oliver Mkirani Mwawuda, on 30th June 2021 after a short illness.
He was the proprietor of Baron restaurant in Komarock Phase 2 Shopping Centre and a retired Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Regional Manager (Mt. Kenya Region).
He was the third born son of the late Ex-Senior Chief Benjamin Mwawuda and the late Stella Mwawuda. He was son in law to Danson Mjomba Kasololo and the late Lucy Egwa Kasololo.
Beloved husband to Grace Mkirani Mwawuda. Father to Stella Mbori, Timina Egwa, Elizabeth Chaghu and Fiona Zighe. Father-in-law to Jacob Tindi and Mjomba Nderitu. Grandfather to Roman, Ramadhan, Shadya, Olivia, Liam, Mason and Luna.
Brother to the late Wilfred Mwawuda, Julius Kiteto, Clement Masese, Nelson Mzugha,Leah Kelli, Grace Wakesho, the late Deborah Wacheghu, Christine Mwake and the late Simon Mwanguma.
He was brother in law to Pauline Mwawuda, Milka Kiteto, Joyce Usaga, Martha Mzugha, the late Anthony Kelli, Edward Mbogholi, Valerie Malemba, the late Josephine Mghoi,Gift Mwasighwa,Godwin Mliwa,the late Erick Kandoro, Hillary Tabitha Mkawazungu, Lewis Mwangure, Clement Mwandima and late Jimmy Riziki.
He was nephew to Janeth Masinde (USA). Cousin to Vincent Wa Kayanda, Alban Mwendar, Sammy Mwambui, Linda Masinde, Javan Mwavua, Rachel Kimbio and Tony Lewa among others.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, family and friends are meeting daily online via Zoom, at Voi and at his home in Macha, Taita hills.
The cortege leaves St. Joseph’s Hospital in Voi on Wednesday 7th July, 2021, at 7.00am for burial at his home in Mbololo location, Macha (Sere village), Taita Taveta County.
