It is with deep sorrow that we announce the demise of Prof. John Robert Okalebo of University of Eldoret, after a long illness bravely borne.
He was the son of the late Samuel Malinga and the late Norah Apeduno. Brother to the late Joyce Amulen
Husband to Mrs. Mary Theresa Okalebo. Father to the Late Christine Apeduno, Samuel Malinga, Lorna Ikol Knight (UK), Faith Apolot (UoN), Jane Asiyo (USA), the late Samuel Emasit, Charles Malinga and Susan A. Dowling (Australia). Father-in-law to Annette, Scholastic Mutua, David Cherutich, Justin Dowling and Mike Knight.
He was a grandfather to Faith Agoye, Mercy Abala, late Vivian, Matthew Etyang, Maria, Marcella, Joseph Emasit, Melissa, Mary Diana, John Mark, John Robert Okalebo, John Robert Kimutai, Alex Knight, Victor Knight and Emily Dowling. He was a great-grandfather and uncle to many.
Requiem mass will be held at 2.00 pm at St Joseph Cathedral, Ngong Township on 12th January, 2022 and at 10.00 am, 13th January at Christ the Redeemer Church, Kapsoya, Eldoret.
Burial will take place on the 15th January, 2022 from 9.00 am in Miroi, Bukkedea District in Eastern Uganda.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers, funeral and burial arrangements at Seketo Court, Ngong Residence.
