It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance to God’s will that we announce the passing away of our dear Beloved Margaret Nduta Wachira Mathai at The Nairobi Hospital on Thursday 8th February 2024 after a long-time illness with cancer.
Wife of John Wachira Mathai. Mother of Joseph Tumuti Mathai, Tess Wairimu Mathai, Tilda Mbuki Mathai and Tiffany Wangu Mathai.
Daughter of the late Joseph Kimotho Mugambi and Mary Mbuki Mugambi {Karatina}. Daughter-in-law of the late Joseph Tumuti Mathai and Teresa Wairimu Mathai {Nanyuki}.
Sister of Alice Gathoni, the late David Kimotho. Anne Wangari Wachira and David Wachira, the late James Ndegwa, and the late Paul Rua. Cousin of the late Miriam Wanyoike, Wamaitha Haji, Wangari Wahome, John Kimotho, Lucy Mbugua and Ann Nyakibia.
Sister-in-law of Lucy and the late Antony Theuri, Margaret Wambui Mathai, Elizabeth Wangui Moriarty, the late Catherine Ngima Mathai, Professor Muthoni Mathai and Pieter Pietrowicz, Jane Wacheke and Maj General Michael Gichangi, Sera Wathima and Dominic Kosen and Agnes Nyawira Mathai. She was Auntie and Grandmother to many.
Funeral Service shall be at the Benedictine Monastery Church {Nanyuki} on Saturday 17th February 2024 and then be laid to rest at her home in Nanyuki {Mathai Farm}.
Margaret, you fought a good fight, kept the faith, and finished the race.
