It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing away of Mama Beldina Akeyo Wakiaga on the 14th of February, 2024 at Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi.
Daughter of the late Kiliopa Orwa and Priscilla Orwa of Kamasengre, Rusinga Island. Sister of the late Miriam Wachara, Professor Ogweno Orwa, the late Professor Dan Katete, the late Professor Theodora Ayot, Marren Ojode and the late Professor Micheal Misa Orwa.
Wife of the late Ex-Senior Chief Semekiah Wakiaga of Kaswanga, Rusinga Island. Mother of the late Joel Wakiaga, Judith Adoyo Otiang’a, Sammy and Susan Wakiaga, Justice James and Phyllis Wakiaga, Erick and Lillian Wakiaga, the late Awiti Wakiaga, David and Marie-Lyne Wakiaga, and Rosemary and Luke McClure.
Step Mother to Damaris, Peres, the late Judith Adoyo, the late Isckah Achayo, the late Elizabeth Juma Ousa, the late Risper Auma Ochieng, Rose Anyango Otieno, Moses and Jackie Wakiaga, the late Florence Atieno, Hellen Aketch, Semekiah and Anne Wakiaga Ponge, Dedan, Daisy and the late Risper Wakiaga, the late Josephine Atieno Malimu, the late Boi, Ponella Wakiaga, Wiki, and Linda.
Aunty of the Okindas and the Arodos. Grandmother and great-grandmother of many.
Family and friends will meet to fundraise on Monday, the 19th of February 2024 at Charter Hall, Nairobi. Funeral Service shall be held at Nairobi Central SDA Church on the 21st of February 2024 and at Gunda SDA Church on the 22nd of February 2024. Funeral and burial service shall take place on the 23rd of February 2024 at Kaswanga Primary School in Gunda Village, Rusinga Island.
There will be viewing of the body at Lee Funeral Home, Nairobi today, 16th February 2024 from 3.00pm.
