With hearts full of sorrow we regret to announce the sudden demise of Dr. Fredrick Dennis Oduor, formerly of the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Chemistry, Chiromo Campus, at his Kileleshwa home on Monday 12th February 2024.
Fred was the son of the late Manoah Otieno and the late Juliah Atieno Otieno, step-son of Alice Akinyi and Julia Adoyo and son-in-law of the late Isaac Martin Omondi Ochieng’ and Salome Ngira Otini—nephew of Adonijah Oloo, Eunia Jackinda and Amaras of Nyajuok Village, Alego.
He was the husband of Lilian Achola and adored father of the late Gerald Oduor, Christopher Oduor, Maureen Oduor and father-in-law of James Kimani Nyaga. Loving grandfather of Kyle Kimani and Ayden Kimani.
Cherished brother of Jane Obura, James Odongo, the late Grace Akinyi, Dr. Dorcas Kerre, the late Margaret Okwiri, Prof. Lillian Omutoko, Dr. Caroline Wasonga, Juliah, Dan, Anyango, Eric and Elizabeth. Brother-in-law of the late Prof. Karioki Obura, late Jack Ojwang, late Hassan Kerre, Eng. Carey Orege, Wycliffe Omutoko, Dr. Frank Opijah, Jared Ogony, Joseph Ochieng, John Oyamo, David Wamari, the late Moses Wesonga, the late Rosemary Kaduru, Dorah Nganyi, Lydia Omondi, Sylvia Auma and Anne Amadi. A treasured uncle, friend and colleague of many.
Funeral meetings are being held daily at his Kileleshwa home on Laikipia Road opposite Kijani Willows, from 5 pm and in his Alego-Kogelo home. A fundraiser will be held on February 21st 2024 at Chiromo Club, Chiromo Campus from 5:00 pm.

The memorial service will be held at Chiromo Morgue Chapel on February 29th 2024 at 12 noon. After that, there will be a night vigil at his Kileleshwa home. He will be laid to rest on Saturday 2nd March 2024 at his home in Pap-Gori Village, Pap-Oriang’ Sub Location, South East Alego Location, Siaya County.
