It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mrs. Lucy Wanjiku Maina Gichure (formerly of Barclays Bank) on 25.02.2024. She was a loving Wife of The Late Phares Gichure Maina.
She was the daughter of the late Josphat Njenga Gichuki and Loice Njeri Njenga. Daughter-in-law of the late Elder James Maina and the late Zipporah Wairimu Maina.
Dedicated and beloved mother of Elder James Maina Gichure of Minor Autohealth Garage, Zipporah Gichure of Absa Bank Kenya, Loice Njeri of Isuzu East Africa, Dr. Mary Gichure of Chuka University and Dr. Josphat Njenga of University of Pretoria. Loving mother-in-law of Ruth Waithira of Joda Pharmacy, Moses Gichuki, Simon Mwangi of Sidian Bank and Sarah Kangai of Oriental Africa.
Dotting grandma of Joshua Muriu, Lisa Gichuki, Jeffrey Gichure, Leonel Mwangi, Amy Wanjiku, Phares Gichure, Megan Mumbi, Ivy Wanjiku, Lynn Kagendo and Lyndsey Wanjiku.
Sister of the late Hellen Waweru, the late Gladwell Ndung’u, Grace Kamau, Mary Njoki, Jesse Gichuki, Rahab Wanjiru, Auther Njoroge, Daniel Thiaka, the late James Njenga, Agnes Gituiiya, Hilda Ng’ang’a and Irene Njenga. Sister-in-law of the late Mary, the late Serah, the late Nduati, Ayub Githìiyu, Leah, David, the late John and Ruth Wangui she was a cousin, auntie and friend of many.
Friends and family are meeting daily from 4.00pm to 6:30pm at her home in Ndeiya, Limuru for burial arrangements. The cortege leaves KU Referral Hospital Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5th March 2024 at 8.00am and thereafter a funeral service and burial will occur at her home in Makutano Ndeiya Limuru, starting from 11.00am.
